One of Denver's most original and acclaimed concert venues will celebrate its 14th birthday this weekend, and true to form, it's doing it in epic fashion. Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom (also home to Cervantes' Other Side) is bringing everyone to the party—the Everyone Orchestra, that is. And you're invited!

For those unfamiliar, The Everyone Orchestra is not only an incredible act to experience, but is also one of those most original bands performing today. The band features one permanent member, multi-instrumentalist and activist Matt Butler, though he rarely picks up a single instrument during a performance. No, he's no DJ (if he were, I probably wouldn't be writing this article). He's a conductor, and it's whom he conducts that makes this band special.

The band features a rotating cast of top-notch musicians, heavy-hitters on both the local and national circuits. The highly-skilled players are then led and fed by Butler as he excitedly writes, mimes, and signs the direction of the music on the fly. Therefore, the Everyone Orchestra creates a completely distinct experience each and every time it performs through Butler's conducting, paving the way for improvisational musical exploration and audience participation. It truly is a mesmerizing spectacle to witness.
