Woodshed Red brings untamed improvisation to Bloodies & Bluegrass

Hailing from Colorado Springs, Woodshed Red performs across Colorado and the neighboring region. Originally comprised of guitar, fiddle, upright bass and drums from varying musical backgrounds, the group came together in 2013 and began covering myriad musical styles while writing their own original tunes. In late 2017, the band welcomed Jason Gilmore on mandolin to round out their line-up.

Inspired by bluegrass, blues, funk and rock spanning eras of music both old and new, the band members have incorporated their individual styles to create their own unique sound. The instrumentation of Woodshed Red generates an upbeat and positive grassy sound, intertwined with funky, untamed improvisation. They deliver high-energy artistic performances at various festivals, venues and private events. In early 2018 they released their sophomore album, Live in Manitou.

But trust us, this band can PLAY. Not only is the talent self-evident, but their stage presence is equally impressive. Led by guitarist/vocalist Rob Fulton’s frenetic energy and passionate playing, the band brings a well-rounded and cohesive energy. These pictures won’t do the band justice, so you’ll need to check ‘em out for yourselves if you haven’t already. Woodshed Red is radiant and highly adept and has but one direction on their professional compass—upward.
