Sqwerv and Dangermuffin brought their tasteful melodies, tight grooves, and exploratory jams to The Argo in Whitefish Bay, WI on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Making our first visit to The Argo (a gorgeous Wisconsin gem that opened in December 2025) we were blown away. Clean, stellar sounding, impressively staffed, and reasonably priced, this venue is making jam-friendly music a core attribute of its identity. Sqwerv and Dangermuffin threw down in the venue’s smaller ballroom, and with upcoming dates like David Murphy (ex-STS9) on July 24 and Pink Talking Fish on September 3, we can’t wait to experience a show in the main theater.
Folly Beach, SC’s Dangermuffin kicked off the night. Having tracked this funky Americana and jam-grass trio since their 2007 debut Beermuda, seeing them live in the Midwest was an absolute treat, courtesy of Sqwerv bringing them along for a three-stop Wisconsin run that also included Highbridge Hills Disc Golf Music Festival (you read that right) and Madison’s Bur Oak. Their set of addictively catchy originals was anchored by their amazingly adept, unique drummer Steven Sandifer, who keeps the grooves of every song unique and constantly engaging. Meeting the band backstage confirmed that their personalities are as infectious as their songwriting.
Sqwerv took the stage next, ready to dive deep right out of the gate for an eager crowd. Their jams traversed wide-ranging sonic landscapes, shifting seamlessly from blissful peaks to turbulent, unpredictable exploration. Chatting with drummer Zach Bulgarelli after the set, he noted the night had a unique energy that pushed the band into unexpected territory, forcing everyone to react dynamically both individually and as a unit. The night was a lesson in “yes, and…” that paid off nicely. Their quirky, fearless approach to both complex compositions and unscripted jams was a treat to experience as a virgin Sqwerv concert-goer.
All three—Sqwerv, Dangermuffin, and The Argo—deserve a top spot on the radar of every fan of The Jam Community.
